TERAZ WP studio
A television studio has to be seen and heard at the same time, a rare design brief. In the new TERAZ WP studio, that balance is part of the architecture. Exposed brick, tall windows glowing with a city skyline at night, dark glass and warm timber create a setting with real character. They also pose a familiar challenge for every acoustic designer: hard, reflective surfaces that carry sound a little too far.
The project behind the studio
TERAZ WP is a new video project from Wirtualna Polska that brings several of its journalistic formats under one banner. The programmes cover politics, international affairs, security, the economy, and history, with live evening broadcasts at the centre of the schedule; the project is also available on YouTube. Live conversation, debate and long-form interviews depend on one thing above all: voices that sound clear and natural, in a room that looks as good on camera as it feels in person. Where the Gamma floor lamp comes in
Standing tall beside the host desk, the flexxica acoustic Gamma floor lamp is one of the first things the eye finds in the frame. Its slatted red form glows against the dark brick and the night-lit windows, adding a warm vertical accent that gives the set depth and personality on camera.
Its role goes beyond decoration. Like all flexxica acoustic lighting, Gamma floor was designed around a simple idea: that light and silence belong to the same design decision. The felt structure that shapes its silhouette also helps soften sound reflections in the space around it. In a studio full of brick, glass and hard finishes, that gentle absorption supports more intelligible speech, a quality that matters as much to the people in the room as to the microphones.
Why light and acoustics work better together
Good lighting and good acoustics both support comfort, and both are covered by recognised standards. Lighting guidance such as EN 12464-1 addresses how light supports visual tasks and wellbeing, while frameworks like the WELL Building Standard treat sound and light as key factors in how people feel and perform indoors. A single luminaire that supports both, without adding visual clutter, offers a practical answer to a modern design problem: spaces where people speak, listen, and concentrate for hours at a time.
A lamp that tells a story
In the TERAZ WP studio, Gamma floor does what good design does best. It belongs to the set so naturally that viewers feel the atmosphere without needing to know why. The warm glow, soft acoustic character, and strong silhouette all create a space where serious conversations feel focused and unhurried.
We’re proud to see flexxica’s light and silence present in a studio where voices matter, and we thank the team behind TERAZ WP for the trust.
